We hope you'll have time to explore Denver, Boulder or Evergreen during your trip! Bryon grew up close to where we are having the wedding, and we'd love for you to experience some local sights.
Some ideas for things to do:
Hiking & Nature:
Rocky Mountain National Park
Mesa Verde National Park
Great Sand Dunes National Park
Pike's Peak - the highest summit of the front range of the Rocky Mountain range
Royal Gorge Bridge and Park - The highest suspension bridge in America, built in 1929. The park also has some other attractions on the property including a gondola over the gorge.
Lookout Mountain - From this park, you can see a panoramic view of Denver. Plus, there's a Buffalo Bill memorial at the top.
Hanging Lake - The lake can be reached by a hiking or biking trail following Dead Horse Creek, a tributary of the Colorado River.
Relaxation:
Hot spring pools and spas - open all year, some with some incredible views
brewery Tours:
Coors Distillery - The Golden Brewery Tour
New Belgium Brewing Company - The makers of Fat Tire, this was one of the first micro-breweries to take off in Colorado - the founder originally delivered beer on his bike.
Other Beer, Wine and Distillery Tours
Food and Drink
Casa Bonita - DO NOT GO HERE FOR THE FOOD. But, if you love kitsch, it is a pink palace with gun shows, dive shows, and more. Basically Heather's dream come true.
Chipotle - The first one was opened in Denver, and is still there! (For you, Josh) at 1644 East Evans Avenue.
The Original Chubby's - Open late night, and famous for it's Mexican burgers - covered in green chile.
My Brother's Bar - There's been a bar in this spot since the 1880s. It has no sign, and rocks only classical music.
The Church - If you're in the mood for a club, this one is in a converted church built in 1865, and hosts a lot of big name DJs.
Other attractions
The Denver Zoo - Founded in 1896, this zoo was one of the first to pioneer natural zoo enclosuers over cages, and is one of the greenest zoos in the US.
